Whew! I had another great week for books last week. This is what showed up in my mailbox:
- Monday – Marcia from The Printed Page sent Deconstructing Sammy by Matt Birkbeck for my mother. How sweet is that? I also received the 10 Spooktacular Hachette Books that I won from Bobbie of Book Reviews by Bobbie. Going through that box felt like Christmas!
- Tuesday – The Flavor Bible by Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg and Katie Brown Celebrates came from Hachette Books. Carl and I both had fun looking through those.
- Wednesday – I received The Magician’s Book by Laura Miller from Hachette Books.
- Thursday – Ulysses Press sent me Hidden Carolinas and The Private John Lennon by Julia Baird. I got those two books through Mini-Book Expo. A gorgeous book, When Wanderers Cease to Roam by Vivian Swift arrived from Bloomsbury. I also received This One is Mine by Maria Semple from Hachette Books.
- Friday – I received an autographed bookmark from R. Scot Johns, the author of The Saga of Beowulf.
- Saturday – The copy of A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines that I won from Natasha of Maw Books arrived.
What books arrived in your home last week? Mailbox Mondays are hosted by Marcia of The Printed Page. Feel free to check it out and join the fun!

Wow, that’s a lot of books. I’m hoping for a copy of When Wanders Cease to Roam myself. A Lesson Before Dying is a very good book, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I look forward to some of your reviews.

Did you get extra books because your birthday was coming?! What a haul!
*When Wanderers Cease to Roam* is gorgeous, isn’t it?!
I bet you’ll have fun with those cook books. Share some recipes when you try them.

I won those spooky books too. My husband took The Terror already. I can’t really decide where I want to start on them. I used to read those “13 Alabama ghosts and Jeffrey” books when I was a kid, I’m hoping to feel the same way with the ghost stories.

Happy Birthday!!!
I also received When Wanderers Cease to Roam – I made the mistake (lol) of opening it when it came in the mail, and I simply never put it down – the pictures are fun, and the author has a nice way of looking at things! I hope you enjoy reading it!!
I think those cookbooks from Hachette are going to be good – I requested those as well.

Looks like you had a great week for books! I need to start participating in Mailbox Monday. I don’t really keep track of what I receive, other than adding the books to my library on LibraryThing.

Wow – a TON of books, Kathy. My two seem meager by comparison (although as far behind as I am, that’s probably a good thing!)

Thank you for stopping by the mailbox this week. You’re welcome and thank you for the shout out. I hope your mother enjoys ‘Deconstructing Sammy’. I found it very interesting reading. LOTS I didn’t know in that book.

WOw! You took in quite a haul this week. I hope you have lots of spare time to get some reading done soon. Some of these sound so good. I am hoping you will give some of them away to your readers when you are done.
