I have to admit that I don’t wear much makeup because I don’t know much about applying it. Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual was just the book for me. I learned so much from this book. The beginning of the book shows what equipment you need and how to take care of it. There is a chapter that teaches you how nutrition and lifestyle choices affect your skin and how to take care of your skin. This book takes you through applying makeup step-by-step. I found out that I’ve never applied concealer correctly. There are are tips and troubleshooting techniques throughout this book.
Bobbi Brown includes pages on the “Beauty of Diversity” as well as Special-Occasion and Teen Makeup. There are three chapters dedicated to professional makeup artistry – including career options, how to break into the business and putting together a portfolio just to name a few. There’s even a fun chapter with makeup for magazines, fashion shows and television as well as a history of makeup.
This is a great book for anyone who wants to improve their look or break into the makeup business. The instructions are easy to follow because they include pictures. I plan to take this Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual to Ulta to shop for some new makeup.

I won this one on another blog and I’m really looking forward to it. I would say that I know how to apply makeup and I think I’m pretty good at it, but I would love new techniques. I’m glad you found it to be useful!

I’m one of those who could use some advice because I don’t wear much makeup. Thanks for the review.

I don’t wear makeup mainly because I get up every day at 4 am and couldn’t be bothered. LOL My workplace is very casual, so it’s not a big thing. But this book sounds like a good one to have if I ever decide to wear makeup. Thanks for the review!

I don’t wear much make up either – I could definitely use a ‘how to’ manual!

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for taking part in the phone-in today. I can exclusively reveal that for the interview I wore: no make-up. Just as well it was radio. Perhaps I should invest in this book…

This looks so good Kathy! My MIL wears a lot of Bobbi Brown make-up. I love make-up – I think it appeals to my creative side as well as my vanity because I just have fun doing different looks/colors/etc. I’m gonna have to break my no-contest-entering rule for this one!

I’m glad you had fun with this one, Kathy! I visited Ulta for the first time this past weekend when we were in NJ over Thanksgiving. LW12, J’s sister and I went to DSW and Ulta (I enjoyed the shoes more, but was impressed by Ulta).

I’m a no or minimal make-up wearer. But my girl will soon (okay in a few years) be allowed (she’s already wanting) to wear makeup. Would be good to be able to tell her the right way and all that. Thanks for the review!
