It’s Snowing!

I know some of you may laugh at this, but here in the South, snow is big news.  I decided to go out this evening and take pictures before it all melted.  It’s still snowing now.

Very odd weather all around these days. But beautiful pictures!

  3. March 1, 2009 9:32 pm

That looks like a lot of snow. Makes for some pretty pics.

  4. March 1, 2009 9:41 pm

I think the snow looks very beautiful! Great pics!

Amazing! We woke up to just a half an inch or so, but it steadily snowed all morning, up to three inches here. It was gorgeous…!

  6. March 1, 2009 9:59 pm

Those are lovely photos. I wish I could give you some of our snow though!

  7. March 1, 2009 10:11 pm

Wow, it went south?! We had rain up here, and now everything’s brown and muddy.

  8. March 1, 2009 10:18 pm

We don’t have any, but you do! How funny is that?

  9. March 1, 2009 10:37 pm

We had snow earlier this week, but it’s mostly gone now. Having grown up in the South, I remember what a thrill any snow at all is. Looking at it from here though, it is hard not to chuckle (at my old me too.)

Well, our snow of yesterday must have arrived at your house today 🙂 Glad you are able to enjoy it.

It is beautiful. We are getting your snow overnight, I think. We have lots already but there are few things in life that I love more than watching the snow fall outside (from inside a warm house). If I have to go out and drive in it, I don’t love it so much!

Not laughing…in fact, it looks wonderful (and beautiful) to me.

  13. March 1, 2009 11:09 pm

I know how that is! Snow is such a big event in the south lol. Great pics!

  14. March 1, 2009 11:39 pm

It snowed south of us but not here! We will never get good snow again.

I love snow. They promised snow…and we got it. Now the fact that I had to go out in it as it raged down and the wind was blowing…not quite as much fun. coming home at 3 a.m and having to shovel a good foot out of the driveway…and finding my electric out.

well, it is very, very pretty. i wish I could stay home from work and play in it.

Gorgeous! I actually think snow is best when it doesn’t come so often. You don’t get tired of it and can just appreciate how lovely and peaceful it is, plus the excuse to stay in!

OK, I won’t laugh….enjoy the snow while it lasts.
Ours will be around for quite some time yet, but by March I’m pretty much done enjoying it.

It snowed in Georgia, too, and we’re just as excited about it. 🙂

Super photos!! I’m actually sorry we didn’t get any of the snow.

  21. March 2, 2009 10:17 am

oohhh lovely, if it ever snows here, that’s all i will be talking about on my blog for days 🙂

  22. March 2, 2009 10:23 am

Wow. We just got snow too, after two weeks of what felt like spring! My daughter is ecstatic, we’re not (husband has to drive in it to work, and I have to wait longer to plant the garden!)

  23. March 2, 2009 10:32 am

Nice collage! I haven’t actually been outside yet to survey the snow, but hopefully I get out this afternoon!

I know how exciting snow is when you don’t get it often; we took out cardboard boxes to flatten and sled on when we lived near Charlotte and got snow one year.

Having lived 5 years in Syracuse (home of “lake effect” snow), and with the winter we’ve had in the Boston area (a foot last night), it doesn’t make me grin quite as wide!

I love these pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us all 🙂

Great pics Kathy. Even though I’m tired of the snow I don’t mind seeing it at someone else’s house.

Snow is big news in the South. My mom was telling me that they were expecting snow in Alabama. We got some here too, but it’s only as pretty as yours is at night. Now it’s been ruined by all the traffic and the people.

Gorgeous. Wish we could get rid of ours here in WI! Slowly melting. Spring will eventually get here.

  29. March 2, 2009 10:24 pm

Beautiful pictures. It must be strange to get snow when it’s such a rare occurence. We’re so used to it up north. I am ready for spring and sunshine!

We had about 8 inches where I live in Maryland, which is the most snow we’ve had in a few years. We tend to get ice storms, which aren’t much fun.

    Thanks for sharing the pics!

  31. March 4, 2009 7:44 pm

Great photos, Kathy. I’m hoping we’ve seen the last of the snow until next winter.

  32. March 4, 2009 8:01 pm

Nice shots! We got our first snow here this past week.

  33. March 5, 2009 1:33 pm

WOW! That is a LOT of snow. We’re in shorts today…go figure.
