A big thanks to Marcia of The Printed Page for hosting Mailbox Mondays. Check out her blog if you want to see what everyone else got last week or if you want to play along. Here’s what I found in my mailbox:
Tuesday
- The Host by Stephenie Meyer from Hachette Books – this is for a blog tour – look for my post on June 2
Wednesday
- Neil Armstrong is My Uncle by Nan Marino from Roaring Brook Press
Friday
- Do-Over! by Robin Hemley – a win from Books and Needlepoint
Saturday
- The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan from Book Club Girl – this is for a Blog Talk Radio show on May 27
I actually read more than I brought in this week! What books came into your home last week?

Ahh the Host, maybe I should give that one a go too, wonder why the library doesn’t get it
The Middle Place is a good book. You will like it.
I didn’t realize that you read the Twilight series!
I haven’t! The Host will be my first experience with Stephanie Meyer’s work.
It looks like you had a lighter week. I like those as it gives you a chance to catch up a bit! I have the Host TBR and The Middle Place. I got a copy of Neil Armstrong and hope that my son will like it and write another review.
Ooh I really enjoyed The Middle Place, I think you’ll like it too. Also I’ve been meaning to read The Host for a long time now so I’m excited to read your review and see what you think of it!
The Middle Place is so good!!! The Host is just huge, isn’t it?
Oh you got host for review? Ah…the advantage of living in the U.S 🙂
I’ve been meaning to buy it but the prices are still very high.
I’ll be looking forward to your review.
I really liked Do-Over. Hope you do too. And I’e seen The Middle Place all over this week. I’m quite jealous! 🙂
I read The Host last year and will be participating in the tour too. It was good although I’m still more of a fan of the vampires.
The Middle Place is supposed to be coming but I doubt in time for me to make the show. I hear it’s really good though.
Enjoy!
I am participating in the Blog Talk Show for The Middle Place too but I haven’t gotten the book yet. Calif always seems to get it a bit late but I am looking forward to it.
I’m curious to hear what you have to say about The Host.
The Host is enjoyable, I hope you like it.
My d-i-l started reading The Host yesterday afternoon and couldn’t stop reading it. She took a break to get something to eat and to tell me the general plot. She then went straight back to the book. Hope you enjoy it as much as she did.
I’m looking forward to your review of The Host. I read it when it first came out and really liked it. Happy reading!

I would love to read that Armstrong book!
Here is my post
I enjoyed the Host. It was better than all of Twilight, combined! It had much better writing and more depth (although, you can’t really call Meyer’s stuff deep). I’m anxious to see your review!!
I am so excited to read The Host. I have read 3 of the 4 Meyers Twilight Series. I love them. I am going to read the 4th after The Host.
Great Mailbox by the way. Enjoy!
PS. Love your Host Tour Blog button
Those are some good books Kathy. Can’t wait to see all your reviews.
Mine is posted already.
I liked The Host better than the Twilight series! I haven’t posted my review yet, though – in fact, yours might show up before mine does. I’ll be interested to see what you think.
I thought I was the last one to not read Stephanie Meyer yet…lol! I will be curious to see what you think of her book. When I read the title of that Armstrong book it just makes me laugh.
Ooh I’ve been wanting to read The Host!
You have The Host – I am so jealous. I like the sound of Neil Armstrong is my Uncle. My maiden name is Armstrong and I used to get ribbed that Neil Armstrong must be my dad!
Do-over sounds interesting! I haven’t read any of Stephanie Meyer’s books yet.
I’m just back from vacation and found out I’m getting Do Over! as part of LibraryThing’s Early Reviewer program. It sounds like a fun book so I’m looking forward to it!
And did you read the Twilight books? I’m curious to see how The Host compares to them!!
Only one book that is similar for me this week. I got a copy of the Host last year and sadly, haven’t read it yet. I’ve heard it is better than the Twilight series, which I haven’t read either, so I hope you enjoy it!
I’ll be looking forward to your reviews. 🙂

So, is The Host coming out in pb? I’ll watch for your review!
I loved The Host way more than the Twilight books!! I hope you enjoy it!! We had a few other ones in common. Looks like some great reads!
The Middle Place looks good. The Host is supposed to be SciFi, I think. I’ll be interested in your review. I’m not big on SciFi so I haven’t read it yet.
I read The Host and enjoyed it alot. Happy reading!
I missed out on getting The Middle Place. I look forward to your review of it. Happy reading.
You’ll be busy for awhile. 🙂 The Middle Place is one I’ve been wanting to read for awhile now. Enjoy your new books!
Do-Over is on my tbr list, it sounds like fun. I really enjoyed The Host, it was my favorite Meyer book and personaly I enjoyed it much more than her Twilight series (gasp! LOL).
I loved The Host! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it.
You always have the best books! I got The Host too for the tour and am anxious to read it. The radio show sounds like fun. Enjoy and have a great week with more good books!
I’m never going to read the Twilight books, but I just may read The Host.
I loved The Host! I’ve heard The Middle Place is a fantastic book.
Happy reading.
I just got The Middle Place and have started to read it. I can’t wait for the discussion since I am loving the book so much.
