Books Bought
November 1, 2009
Books Bought is a meme hosted by Cindy of Cindy’s Love of Books. She invites everyone to grab the logo and participate. I’ve been really good about staying out of bookstores lately, but kind of fell of the wagon this last week. This is what I bought:
- The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa – I’ve had my eye on this one for a while, but Stacy’s review convinced me I needed to buy it.
- Bed and Breakfast by Lois Battle – this looks good because it has a Christmas theme, plus it will count for my Literary Road Trip.
- Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. by Judy Blume – this is for Booking Mama’s Shelf Discovery challenge – my review should be up later today.
What books have you bought lately?

I picked up Bed & Breakfast several weeks ago. Saving it to read in December (or at least after Thanksgiving). Have you read the Judy Blume before now?
Just finished ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT’S ME MARGARET last night and it was even better than I remember! Loved it!
I read Are You There God…many, many years ago, and I remember I really liked it. Would be fun to re-visit 🙂
I’m already planning which empty BIG BOX to bring with me to the library sale next week!
The Housekeeper and the Professor is SOOOOO good!
I loved the Housekeeper and Professor too. 🙂
Hey, we all have to buy at least once in a while! 😀
I hope you like the Housekeeper and the Professor, or else you’ll never trust another recommendation from me!
I want to read The Housekeeper and The Professor…enjoy your stack there~!
Enjoy your new books! I have a coupon burning my fingers; perhaps it will go toward The Housekeeper and the Professor…
I just got The Forest if Hands and Teeth for my chat with Beth, and then I got Malice for my cousin. I’m reading it before I give it to her though. lol
You think you fell off the wagon…I bought 12 books this weekend.
I loved The Housekeeper and the Professor — hope you do too!
Hi Kathy, I haven’t read any of the ones you mentioned here, but I’m very interested in the one by Yoko Ogawa. I’m waiting for your review!
Great list, Kathy! I can’t wait to read your reviews on them!
Looks like you got some great books on your trip to the bookstore. Was this the same trip you took with hubby during read-a-thon?
Oh, I just loved The Housekeeper and the Professor. I thought it was brilliant and I am interested to hear what you think of it. It has a great mix of hope and melancholy, and I just really adored the relationship between the professor and the young boy. I really hope you enjoy it!
I love Judy Blume, and I’m off to read your review!
