Okra Picks Challenge Update

January 7, 2011

I came home from SIBA last fall pumped and excited about their Okra Picks – those books that SIBA members have chosen to handsell – and decided to start the Okra Picks Challenge.  The challenge runs through March 31, 2011, so it’s not too late to join in the fun.  To complete the challenge, you only need to read one Okra Pick, but to make things a little more interesting, SIBA has offered to send anyone who completes the Okra Level (10 to 13 books) a free book – most likely a title from the “next bushel” of Okra Picks.

If you’ve already signed up for the challenge, there’s nothing to do, except keep reading.  If you’re interested in signing up, you can go here for all the details.  I hope you’ll join me in this challenge.

I think Susan Gilmore’s book was an Okra — this sounds great!

That sounds good! I’ll keep reading. I think I’m on my 5th.

Thanks so much for the reminder, I forgot I signed up for this one. I know I’m three down and waiting for Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter from the library.

Off topic – Kathy thanks for response to The Gargoyle, a real find for me. I enjoyed reading your review, it is great to see other reviews since the book came out before I was blogging.

How generous of SIBA! I love that you’re keeping with the theme, talking about the ‘next bushel’ of books.

This post reminded me that I need to pick up my Kindle and start reading for the challenge. I bought Kindle editions for the books I selected. 🙂
