Saturday Snapshot
February 12, 2011
This picture was taken by my uncle in August of 1954. Shortly after my parents were married, my father was deployed for close to a year. My grandmother insisted that my mother come home while he was gone. This picture was taken at my grandmother’s house when he returned.

I get such a kick out of seeing old photos…This is beautiful.
I love pictures like these. You can truly see how happy they were.
I love this picture. It takes me back to 1954. Perfect.

Another glimpse of the past. You can tell this was a happy occasion.
I’m enjoying your old photos.
What a beautiful couple! So what do you think her waist was , 21 inches, less? My mom was the same – don’t know how they did it!
Beautiful photo, Kathy! I don’t know which one of them looks happier…
Thank you for sharing this.
I am in the process of finding old pictures and its bittersweet to see our parents so young. I see a strong resemblence to your mom.
Oh, how I love that you’re sharing these photos with us! This one is as wonderful as the others … it’s a treasure. Thank you, Kathy!
I love these old photos you share!
I love photos like that…a reminder of our family’s past.
Absolutely priceless and her suit is stunning.
Love it!
You and your mom have similar smiles — very nice photo.
Lovely photo, and love her suit.
I always love looking at old photos. Your mother looked so
glamorous.
Great photo! And I love your mom’s style. So classy.
Kathy you are your mother’s daughter, no ifs buts … you are the splitting image of your mom. I see class runs in the blood line.
I absolutely adore your photos, but you know that. My grandparents had a similar story of getting married and then my grandfather going overseas. How strange it must have been to be newlyweds and then have to separate for so long. I always think about how strong they were 🙂 Your parents are lovely.
I wish I could pull off a dress like that…. your mom looks great! Love the old pics!
Great photo! I enjoy seeing your family. It allows me to better understand/know you!
Oh, I love the old photos! They make me think of looking through my parents’ old photo albums, and remind me of another time.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

I just love these old photos! Such history, emotion and nostalgia 🙂
So beautiful!
Fantastic pic!
I love how formal she is dressed…what a gorgeous and wonderful picture!
I continue to love all these photos. I do think we lack that sense of style that all women had back then. It is sad really. I’m such a schlub!
I love these old photos you’ve been sharing. They are treasures.
What a great figure on your mom! 🙂
Such a beautiful couple!
