Saturday Snapshot
We vacationed in Hilton Head with my parents for years. They would bring our nephew along, so he and Vance could hang out together. We would always make a trip to one of the local putt-putt places and then torture the boys by making them pose for a photo in the stockades there. These are the oldest and most recent photo we could find – taken in 1990 and 2001. In the first one, Vance was 3 and Adam was 8 and in the second, Vance was 14 and Adam was 19. They both grew up way too fast for us!
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.
They don’t look too pleased in those photos. But they sure are cute.
Now that is scary, watching time pass by in one photo! They grow up way too fast. (We honeymooned in Hilton Head!)
Those shots are always great memories for families and good laughs too.
Thanks for sharing the pictures! Time seems to pass so fast….
Very cute! Time does go by quickly!
I love photos like this – I wish I would have thought of that when my boys were growing up – taking photos in the same place as they grew.
Hahaha … I love your family photos! Time passes so quickly.
Photos like that are always precious to have.
They don’t look too thrilled to have their pictures taken. Fun to see the same scenery years later.
Love these (especially the look on their faces!). It’s so nice to have memories like these captured in photos.
I love these two photographs! Wonderful!
I got a chuckle out of these photos. 🙂
This is a riot! The boys will no doubt be scourging through their photos to share one day. You’ll have to give in and put up the pictures they want 🙂
They looks so thrilled in that last one, LOL!
Fantastic pictures, they look about as thrilled as my guys would be.
I love photos that show the progression of age using the same location. The boys don’t look too happy about having their photo taken in either shot! 🙂
It always makes me giggle to see the small heads and arms sticking out of the giant holes in the stocks! Great picture!
Ha! What fun.
Yeah, kids grow up way too quickly, don’t they?
Totally look fun and cheerful!
Great photos…it’s fun to compare & see how they’ve grown.
I used to vacation in Hilton Head with my family during winter vacation. My sister and I spent as much time in the sun as possible, we wanted to return to school looking “cool” with our tans! lol ugh! My poor mother!
I love these photos you share, Kathy!
The boys were so good sports to do this every year. lol
Great photos! I love looking back on old family vacation photos. Lots of great memories.
It is neat to see them grow up like that…though you are right–it is way too fast.
Time sure does get away from us!! Thank goodness for pictures so we can capture those moments!!
fantastic pictures!!! the expressions are priceless!
Not only did the boys change, but the stocks were painted in those years 😉
Kathy, we have similar photos from what might be the same mini-golf place on Hilton Head!
I love pictures like this where you take the “same” picture several years apart.
Very cool!
I’m running late this week…but here’s mine if you’d like to take a peek:

How funny!! I’m a sucker for the stockades–I have a great shot of Scott in them in Salem, MA but recently found a similar picture from when he was a kid. They’re tough to resist putting your head and hands in, huh?
You know I love your family photos, Kathy!
