Family Fun
We’re in the Shenandoah Valley this weekend celebrating with Carl’s family. Friday was his mother’s birthday, even if she claims she doesn’t have them any more. Happy birthday, MeMe! On Saturday, our niece graduated from high school. Congratulations, Heather! The speaker graduated from the same school 40 years ago and he did a great job – he even quoted Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers. Heather will be going to school close to Vance in the fall, so maybe we’ll get to see her from time to time.
We grabbed a quick bite to eat after the ceremony so we could go see our nephew play baseball. He made a run and his team won. As you can tell, he was less than thrilled to have his picture taken.
We’re heading home today for some much needed rest after being away the last two weekends!
I love the pictures. What a beautiful family. Congratulations to the graduate. How you are posting with all the travel is beyond me. I have been pooped this past week.
Looks like you’ve had a lovely weekend!
Oh! The Shenandoah Valley is one of my very most favorite places in the world! Absolutely beautiful! First NYC, now the Shenandoah — when are you going to start packing ME in your suitcase?
Sounds like you had a busy but fun-filled weekend. Have a safe trip home! And, happy birthday MeMe!
Sounds like a successful trip!
Thanks for sharing your family’s celebrations. It’s wonderful that you were able to be there. Rest up early in the week and enjoy staying at home for a bit.
I always feel as though I need a vacation after my vacation 🙂
Have safe travels back home!
I love family pictures too! Thanks for sharing them!
Looks like you had a great time!

Hope you arrive home safely.
I’ve had three weekends in a row with “obligations” and am looking much forward to next weekend, where I hope to be able to rest a bit.
And btw, where is Shenandoah Valley?
Thanks for sharing these pics with us. I love to see family pics and that last one of your nephew reminds me of all the pics that I have taken of my son. Boys just don’t care to have their pic taken, do they?
P.S. I have an award for you at my blog!
Thanks for sharing your family pics. They look lovely.
PaPa and I really enjoyed your visit. Polly misses you she is laying in your bedroom waiting for you. Love You MeMe
Sounds like a great trip. Thanks for sharing the pics!
Kathy! How wonderful for MeMe to be commenting on your blog! Way to go MeMe and a very Happy Birthday to you!
Congratulations to the graduate and happy b-day to MeMe! Have a safe trip home, Kathy!
It sounds like you had a wonderful trip! Funny, when I aim the camera at my older son, he gets the same look as your nephew – actually, only if he doesn’t succeed in getting that arm up in front of his face in time. 🙂
Kathy thanks for sharing the pics. Congrats to the graduate. You have been busy with traveling lately but all well worth it right?
Wow.. thank you for sharing. Your niece looks beautiful in her cap and gown. Graduation photos always get to me. The nephew looks cute .. tell him he is a star on your blog now!! Glad you had a fun time.
How nice of you to share part of your family with us. I can see how proud you are.

What a beautiful family! Congrats to all. It sounds like you have a fun weekend. We have plenty of ballgames and graduations ourselves but high school doesn’t finish here for a few more weeks.

It looks like you had a busy little vacation, Kathy! I hope you arrived home safely. Have a great week.
You’re really on the move — first NYC, now the Shenandoah Valley. I got to love the valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains (and chocolate pie) — while I lived in Roanoke. Glad you had a great time.
great photos…you guys have been busy! I’m glad you’ve been having fun!
Glad you had a great time! It’s nice to get a chance to visit with family.
