Mailbox Monday October 5

Mailbox Monday is one of my favorite memes, so I’m sending a big thanks to Marcia of The Printed Page for hosting it. Check out her blog to see what everyone else got last week or to play along.  These are the books I found in my mailbox last week:

Great books. I loved Lifeguard by James Patterson.

  2. October 5, 2009 7:49 am

Congrats on the wins! Last year I listened to David Sedaris’s When You Are Engulfed in Flames on a long road trip. It was great! I really like Sedaris, but I think listen to him on audio is the best way to enjoy his books.

  3. October 5, 2009 7:50 am

Wow–you sure got a ton of audiobooks!

  4. October 5, 2009 8:10 am

    Happy, happy listening!

  5. October 5, 2009 8:10 am

    Ooh, David Sedaris! Enjoy 😀

  6. October 5, 2009 8:16 am

Wow, you were a lucky girl last week! I love Sedaris, enjoy 🙂

  7. October 5, 2009 8:40 am

Wow…nice variety. I Loved Sedaris’ Dress Your Family in Corduroy, but When You are Engulfed in Flames (not so much). Enjoy your new finds.

  8. October 5, 2009 8:46 am

You still had a pretty good week. Those audio books look awesome.

  9. October 5, 2009 8:53 am

Promised World looks like a good book. You got a lot of audiobooks. Happy reading and listening!

  10. October 5, 2009 9:16 am

My niece loved lifeguard and recommended it to me and yet I still haven’t read it. I’ll be watching for your opinion of it.

  11. October 5, 2009 9:17 am

    Great list, Kathy. Enjoy!

  12. October 5, 2009 9:20 am

Wow a week full of wins. How nice is that? Enjoy them.

  13. October 5, 2009 9:21 am

Sedaris and Coben ought to be good. I’ve not read those two you mentioned, but like both authors. Tons of books you get each week! I got three – all photography books. One on the Big Bend, one on Marfa, and one on ranch gates of the southwest.

These all look like new books to me. The only one I recognize is Lisa Tucker’s book.

  15. October 5, 2009 9:56 am

Looks like a great haul this week. Happy reading

  16. October 5, 2009 10:23 am

I really enjoy Harlan Coben. I love how many audio books you have received! I have just become a fan this past year and prefer them in the car instead of music.

    Enjoy! 🙂

  17. October 5, 2009 10:43 am

I interviewed Mr. Coben once for a feature magazine story. One interesting thing is that he sits and reads every single book out loud at the final stages, and in that way makes it just what he wants.

  18. October 5, 2009 10:53 am

I enjoyed “When You Are Engulfed In Flames,” I hope you do too!

  19. October 5, 2009 10:58 am

I’ve yet to get lucky with audio books. 🙂 I love them for long trips. In fact it’s time I start scoping out a good one for my future 10 hr drive to TN (for a ME mini vacation) this coming November!

  20. October 5, 2009 10:59 am

I’ve heard The Promised World is really good. Happy reading!

Wow Kathy! So many great wins 🙂 Congrats – sounds like some great books too.

You got a lot of books last week! The Promised World is the one that has been catching my eye lately.

  23. October 5, 2009 11:31 am

I really need some new audiobooks for my car – otherwise I tend to speed!!!

  24. October 5, 2009 11:32 am

Whew! Fabulous pile of books and audio books this week! Enjoy!!!!

  25. October 5, 2009 11:50 am

I have to get some audio books to listen to while at work. I’m sure I’d be very productive! I love Harlan Coben – I’ve got his book on my wishlist.

  27. October 5, 2009 12:28 pm

Great haul there. I was going to say you have a lot of good reading ahead of you but it’s really good listening, isn’t it?! 🙂

  28. October 5, 2009 12:52 pm

Oh, I’m envious of all your audiobooks! Do you listen to them in the car, or around the house (good to pass the time while folding laundry!)?

  29. October 5, 2009 3:19 pm

What a great haul. I wish I could listen to audio books. My concentration just gets lost.

  30. October 5, 2009 3:19 pm

You are the winningest person! Good for you.

  31. October 5, 2009 4:09 pm

I have been meaning to pick up a copy of When You Are Engulfed in Flames for quite awhile now, so I will be really interested in hearing what you think. I love Sedaris, so I am pretty sure it will be good, but I haven’t read many reviews of it. Lots of audio books this time for you! I wish I could make more listening time for audio books, but it I can never seem to manage it. Enjoy the new reads!

Well, I ‘ve read Long Lost. Hope you like it 🙂

  33. October 5, 2009 6:40 pm

Wow, you’ve got many audiobooks this time. I love a good thriller too. I’d read/listen to When You Are Engulfed in Flames, The Unquiet, Lifeguard, and Got the Look. I still have Last Call from James Grippando and I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. Enjoy your books! =)

  34. October 5, 2009 6:45 pm

I recently read The Promised World and it was very good. I hope you enjoy it.

  35. October 5, 2009 7:10 pm

Look at all those audiobooks! What a great win! 🙂

  36. October 5, 2009 7:27 pm

I recently received The Promised World as well, but I have yet to read it. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

  37. October 5, 2009 7:48 pm

Great week, Kathy! A very winning week, too 🙂

  38. October 5, 2009 9:02 pm

You had a great winning week!! Enjoy 🙂

  39. October 5, 2009 10:04 pm

I’ve never read Harlan Coben but I hear great things and can’t wait to get to the one I have in my TBR pile.

  40. October 5, 2009 11:36 pm

You hit the audiobook jackpot this week! 🙂

  41. October 5, 2009 11:47 pm

Love your list! I see Sedaris, Connolly and a few others. Envy, envy…

  42. October 6, 2009 12:47 am

Lots of audiobooks! I don’t know where I would start – they all sound so good. Enjoy your reading – and listening!

  43. October 6, 2009 5:17 am

It’s great that you can listen to audio books, they just aren’t for me. My attention span is very short. I’m thinking I have to read something by Lisa Tucker someday.

  44. October 6, 2009 10:40 am

I read a couple Harlan Coben, and found them to be entertaining. Great batch of books! 🙂 I wish I could do audio books, too.

  45. October 6, 2009 4:21 pm

Your weekly stacks would stress me out too much!! I could never ever catch up!

  46. October 6, 2009 5:34 pm

Lots of great stuff! I’d love to have all those audio books. Enjoy!

  47. October 6, 2009 9:02 pm

Gosh you have the magic touch!

I have to see if I read that Harlan Coben or not … or if it is a new (but Non-Myron Bolitar) one!

  48. October 7, 2009 11:39 am

The Promised World is awesome. I really hope you get to read it soon!

  49. October 7, 2009 8:14 pm

    What a lovely haul, Kathy!
And I’m glad you received the book I got for you from The Book Depository! 🙂
