Mailbox Monday

December 14, 2009

Mailbox Monday is one of my favorite memes – a big thanks to Marcia of The Printed Page for hosting it. Head on over there to see what everyone else got last week or if you want to join in the fun.  I had a great week last week, since almost all of my books were wins!  Here’s what I found in my mailbox last week:

Nice wins. Perfection has been on my “want to read” list for a while. Hope you enjoy them all!

You won a ton of terrific books!

  3. December 14, 2009 7:20 am

Looks like another great stack of books!

  4. December 14, 2009 7:49 am

The Embers looks good! I recently read Kissing Games of the World and enjoyed it.

  5. December 14, 2009 7:56 am

Lots of wins for you! I enjoyed Perfection when I read it this summer. Hope you do too.

  6. December 14, 2009 8:01 am

Wow, you had a great week. What The Dog Saw looks like it could qualify for the Chunkster Challenge.

Have a great week and enjoy your books.

  7. December 14, 2009 8:24 am

I’m currently listening to What the Dog Saw & think it is fascinating (Gladwell can make even the most mundane things sound incredible). Hope you enjoy it too!

Also as I want to read Cleaving I look forward to your review (still have to read Julie & Julia, but I loved the movie).

  8. December 14, 2009 8:31 am

You’ve got some good ones there! I really enjoyed Outliers by Gladwell. He is just mind-blowing. I’ll be curious about Cleaving. I was entertained by Julie & Julia, but this one sounds a tad bit bizarre!

  9. December 14, 2009 8:40 am

I only read Perfection from that pile – it was a book I was surprised that I liked!

  10. December 14, 2009 8:57 am

  11. December 14, 2009 9:03 am

I thought Perfection was fabulous and passed it along to my mom for her to enjoy. Curious to see your thoughts.

  14. December 14, 2009 9:42 am

I can’t wait to hear about Cleaving. I really enjoyed Julie and Julia, so I would be interested to know if this one is as good.

  15. December 14, 2009 9:52 am

I really enjoyed both The Embers and Kissing Games of the World…you’re in for two good reads! Looking forward to what you think…Happy Monday!

  16. December 14, 2009 10:11 am

You listen to a lot of books, Kathy; that’s great. I always fall asleep, even if I try to listen while driving! Must be a hold-over from the days of my mom reading to me before bed!
The Wives of Henry Oades on my list was excellent. It came last Monday and I plowed right through it.

  19. December 14, 2009 11:27 am

    Those looks interesting. Enjoy!

  20. December 14, 2009 11:42 am

Great books, Kathy! I have a few of these to read myself such as Kissing Games and What the Dog Saw! Perfection and The Embers are on my tbr list, too!
    Happy Reading!

I’m curious about the new Julie Powell book. Hope it’s good.

  25. December 14, 2009 1:55 pm

Kathy, you will not need to go to a bookstore for months!

Of these, I’d most like to read or listen to Malcolm Gladwell’s latest book.

  26. December 14, 2009 2:19 pm

Looks like some great books. Enjoy!

  27. December 14, 2009 2:28 pm

  29. December 14, 2009 4:29 pm

I just won What the Dog Saw a few weeks ago and think it looks great! I hope you like it. I also read and enjoyed Perfection and hope that you find it as engrossing as I did! Very cool wins!

  31. December 14, 2009 5:40 pm

You got some great books Kathy. What the Dog Saw is on my wish list. I’m guessing your TBR pile is growing by leaps and bounds?? 🙂

  32. December 14, 2009 6:07 pm

Great stack of books. You sure have been lucky lately.

  33. December 14, 2009 6:29 pm

I always enjoy seeing your stack of Mailbox Monday books!

I read Perfection. The topic wasn’t a fun one, but I thought the book was well done.

  34. December 14, 2009 7:01 pm

Ah – what’s better than books in the mail? Enjoy! 😀

  35. December 14, 2009 7:12 pm

After reading the review of CLEAVING in the NYT , I wonder, wonder, wonder what you will make of that.

Be honest. I know you will.

  36. December 14, 2009 7:12 pm

I’m looking forward to reading Cleaving. I put it on hold at the library as soon as I heard it was coming out. Nice stack of books this week!

  37. December 14, 2009 8:34 pm

Terrific mailbox this week. I haven’t done a Mailbox Monday in ages. I need to get back on the book wagon.

  38. December 14, 2009 9:00 pm

What a great week you had! You’re going to have to buy the UPS guy a Christmas present to thank him for making all of those stops at your house.

  39. December 14, 2009 10:04 pm

As usual, a lovely collection of books. I read “The Embers” and found it quite moving. Pretty good for a debut novel.

  40. December 15, 2009 12:37 am

Looks like you got a great collection of books.

  41. December 15, 2009 1:59 am

A good list of books! I’m interested to see what you think of Cleaving. I’d like to read it but not sure if I can get through all the butcher talk.

  43. December 15, 2009 7:33 pm

I’m looking forward to listening to Cleaving as well!

  44. December 16, 2009 2:45 pm

The Embers was definitely an interesting book, though a bit too dark and twisty for my tastes! Still, I hope you like it 🙂 Lots of great reads!

  45. December 17, 2009 9:14 pm

None of these sound familiar to me, but they all sound interesting. Enjoy!

  46. December 20, 2009 8:54 am

Oh, I really want to read THE EMBERS! Enjoy all your new books, Kathy!
