Giveaway: The Real Magic of Harry Potter
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone came out when Vance was 9 and he raced through the book. When Carl and I heard about all the controversy over the book, we decided we needed to read it too, just in case there was something in it we wanted to discuss with Vance. We didn’t have any issues with the book, but we did discover that we both loved it as well. When Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets came out, we picked it up and headed to the beach to meet my parents. Vance carried the book around with him and had his nose stuck in it until he finished it. When my mother saw him with the book, she told me she knew why I liked the book so much. What she didn’t realize was that not only was he loving the book, he was trying to keep one of us from snatching it away from him because we were both itching to read it too! I was never one to read fantasy types of books, I’m one who tends to read literary classics, but I just fell in love with J.K. Rowlings writing style.
