Mailbox Monday
September 19, 2010
September is really passing by quickly – I can’t believe this is the third week already! Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is now on tour. I’m thrilled to be the host of this fun meme for the month of September! According to Marcia, “Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.”
This is what I found in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- Hell’s Corner by David Baldacci came from Hachette Books
Tuesday
- Diamond Ruby by Joseph Wallace was a win Author Buzz
Thursday
- The Tower, The Zoo, and The Tortoise by Julia Stuart came from Doubleday
Friday
- Moonlight Mile by Dennis Lehane came from William Morrow
- The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker was a win from Jo-Jo Loves to read!!!
Saturday
- autographed book plate came from Adriana Trigiani
What books did came into your home last week? Here’s the link up if you’re participating this week:

Congrats on the win for The Bride Collector and Diamond Ruby! You’re on a roll 🙂
So jealous of the singed bookplate from Adriana! I think you are going to love DIAMOND RUBY!
I can’t believe how fast September is going too!!! Your books look great and I love that bookplate 😀
Kathy …these look great. Looking forward to the Lehane book.
Looks like some great books to read. I’ve read The Bride Collector and enjoyed it, hope you do too.

Thoughts in Progress
Great week of mail! I want to read Diamond Ruby and Moonlight Mile. Oh gosh – just looked at the list again. There are more that I’m interested in!
It’s so funny to see “September is passing by quickly” right after I saw your post and was thinking – wow, is it Monday already?!! :–)
Wow! At least one book a day, almost every day of the week – I have to learn how to do that!
For now, check out my first contest win and other treasures: http://historicalfictionnotebook.blogspot.com/2010/09/mailbox-monday_19.html
Oh, I want to read Diamond Ruby! Wasn’t it Julie that reviewed that book and said it would be one of her favorites of the year?
Ah, Diamond Ruby is on my wish list. I dunno who wrote the review that got it on my radar, but I know I’m going to have to read it!
I am very interested in The Tower, The Zoo and The Tortoise – I look forward to hearing what you think!
Enjoy the week!
OMG. September is more than halfway over already. o.O
Totally jealous of your books, Kathy! But I am drowning in them, so I’ll try to not be too jealous… 🙂
You got a lot! Diamond Ruby sounds good to me!

The Tower, the Zoo and the Tortoise sounds like a fun, heartwarming read. Enjoy all your books and wins!
I actually didn’t get any books last week 😦
Happy reading!
All these books are new to me. I hope you enjoy all of them!
I was just over at Bibliophile by the Sea’s blog, and she also received Moonlight Mile. I’ll be interested to see how your thoughts on it compare.
Wow that is so awesome that you got an autographed bookplate from Adriana Trigiani.
A thriller week for you it seems, enjoy 🙂
The Bride Collector is on my TBR list and I would love to read the Lehane book. Great haul 🙂
You got a lot of great looking books there. It’s been a while since I got so much in the mail due to cutting back, but it was always so much fun when I did!
Your mailbox is certainly a force to reckon with this week! Enjoy your new books! 🙂
Those sounds good! Enjoy!
Lots of terrific books. I have the feeling that you’ll really like Diamond Ruby. Happy reading, Kathy!
Dennis Lehane has a new book out! Didn’t know that. They all look really good. Have fun reading them,
Natalie :0)
Out of all of those you received I am most interested to hear your opinion of The Tower, the Zoo, and the Tortoise.
An autographed bookplate? How fun 🙂
I’ve wanted to read Diamond Ruby ever since I first read a blurb about it. Happy reading!
Is that a new book from David Baldacci? I’ll have to check that out.
THE TOWER, THE ZOO, AND THE TORTOISE is on my wishlist after hearing about it on the Books on the Nightstand podcast!
I think Jill had a review of “The Tower, The Zoo, and The Tortoise,” that made it sound good. I hope you like it!
The Tower, the Zoo, and the Tortoise is one of my very next reads, and I am hoping that I love it. I read her first book called The Matchmaker of Perigord and thought it was just wonderful. I am hoping for that kind of magic a second time around! I hope you enjoy all the other books that came into your mailbox this week!
The bookplate from Trigiani is SOOO COOOOL!
Great looking mailbox bonanza! I’ve seen a couple of movies based on Lehane’s work, so I really should read one of the books! Moonlight Mile caught my eye.

When I saw Moonlight Mile on your list, I yelled for a minute. I’m SOOOOO looking forward to what you think. Sigh, I can’t wait to get it in my hands!
Oops–ours posted, but I forgot to link it up!!
I keep hearing great things about The Bride Collector. I hope you enjoy all your new books.
Wow, you have some gr8 books there!
Great books! “The Bride Collector” is on my short list .. I’m determined to read some Dekker in the coming months! Enjoy the reads!
You have the new Dennis Lehane book! I must get that one! LOVE Lehane!
Wow, your mailbox fills up really quickly.
I can’t believe how the time is flying by this year either.
Your selection of books looks great.
I have read quite a lot of David Baldacci in the past, but not heard of this one, definitely one for me to look out for.
Another nice week for you!
I got The Tower, The Zoo, and The Tortoise too. I’m looking forward to that one. I need something whimsical after reading The Wake of Forgiveness this week. The Bride Collector looks like a good one too.
Hope you like “The Bride Collector”. I thought it was awesome. I’ve been seeing that Tower, Zoo, Tortoise one around a bit lately. Sounds strangely interesting. I’ll be interested in what you have to say about it.
How exciting, you got an autograph! Even better if it was unexpected. 🙂
Of course, the book plate is envied by us all who love Adriana’s writing! I’ve only read The Bride Collector and think that it will be interesting to listen to on audio…a bit creepy:)
All new to me, except the Dekker book. Happy reading and thanks for hosting!
Lots of great books! I’m hoping to receive Moonlight Mile too. And I have The Tower book on my TBR pile too.
Happy reading!
I have put Dekker on my tbr list after seeing all the great reviews.

Wow, these look all great! Hope you’ll enjoy The Tower, the Zoo, and the Tortoise; I love the sound of it. Happy reading 🙂
That bookplate is so nice! I have a few of those from other authors- it’s nice to have the author “sign” the book, even if you can’t meet them in person!
Mine is posted now

Happy reading this week!
Great haul! I reviewed The Bride Collector for bookgasm.com a few months ago – it was creepy but well done.
Oh that is a new Baldacci one to me! I’m going to have to tell my friend about it! Enjoy all of your new books!
Hmm I really love the title of The Tower, The Zoo, And The Tortoise. I hope you like it!
ooohhhh . . . I like the Dennis Lehane. The rest look good too. Enjoy!
Diamond Ruby has been on my wish list for awhile now. It sounds like a great book. Love the book plate!
Thanks for hosting this month! I’m way behind but working on catching up. I haven’t read the books you received but enjoy all of those authors. I’ll be looking for those titles now! 🙂 Enjoy!!
That’s a lovely stack of books!
Oh I want to read Midnight Mile. Here’s mine: http://cherylbaryl.blogspot.com/2010/09/mailbox-monday.html
Great mailbox!
Cool that you got an autographed book plate from Trigiani. I still haven’t dug Very Valentine out of the TBR but I loved Brava Valentine even though it was the second book in the series.
Only two new books for me this week but I also got a finished title that the publisher had sent out ARC’s for a few months ago.
