Blog Talk Radio
When I started my blog last summer, I had no idea there was such a wonderful book blogging community out there. My favorite things about this community are the awesome bloggers and the interaction with authors. A great way to have contact with authors is through Blog Talk Radio. If you’re not familiar with this site, you need to check it out. The interviews are informal and you can call in to talk to the authors! (You can also participate in the conversation going on in the chat room, but that’s not near as much fun.) The interviews are recorded and can be listened to at a later date. They feel intimate and are so much fun to be a part of! Here are some upcoming shows:
- April 15 – Jean Hanff Korelitz, the author of Admission at 2:00 PM Eastern Time
- April 16 – George Pelecanos at 1:00 PM Eastern Time
- April 19 – Ted Dekker at 8:00 PM Eastern Time
Miriam Parker of Hachette Books is offering a George Pelecanos library (12 books + a galley of The Way Home) to anyone who calls in with a question during the April 16th show. This is a great opportunity for all the George Pelecanos fans out there.

I really have to get on the ball and start listening in! I am definitely going to participate in the Ted Dekker chat. I can”t imagine getting an entire library of an author’s books. Holy cow!

I have seen tweets for blogtalk radio, but since I was unfamiliar with it, I never bothered to check it out.

This post really bums me out because with the exception of that Ted Dekker show, most of the shows are scheduled during working hours for me and it’s simply impossible to participate. 😦
Like Amy I haven’t been able to participate in any due to work. The few that are scheduled during my lunch break still aren’t feasible, because I don’t have access to a computer then. Hopefully the baby and I can listen/call in this summer when I’m on maternity leave!

I hope to participate one day if it happens to be on an off day. I have two hurdles, work and being on the west coast. But I really hope to participate in the future. Thanks for the reminder of how cool this is!
