Happy Mother’s Day
I’d like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, especially to three who are very special to me.
First, of course, is my mother. She has always been devoted to her family. She’s one of those moms who sacrifices in order to do for others and never expects anything in return. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. My mom is loyal to a fault and is fiercely protective of her loved ones. She gave us strong moral values and I credit her for my love of reading.
My mother-in-law is special to me too. She did an outstanding job of raising my wonderful husband and his brother. She’s always been dedicated to her family too. Her grandchildren couldn’t ask for a better grandmother. I tease Carl by telling him that I should have had him adopt me instead of marrying me.
My sister is a fantastic mother. She taught our nephew to be strong, independent and to value learning. Her son has grown up to be a remarkable young man. She must have learned some of that nurturing as a child, since she’s older than I am!
I would like to say Happy Mother’s Day to you and family. I am a mother. Sadly, my mother, my sister and my mother in law have all passed on. I think each one on Mother’s Day. They were so important to my life.
You forgot one — you! I’m sure you are an incredible mother to Vance. I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day. I bet your son would add you that list of great mothers.

Beautiful tribute and from reading the comments, your picture should have been among these outstanding mothers. How fortunate you are to have such special mothers in your life.
I could not read or look at this tribute yesterday; it was my first Mother’s Day without my Mom.

Kathy, that’s a touching, heartfelt post. And knowing the feelings you’v expressed about the Virginia Tech tragedy and fears for your son’s safety, I’m sure you should be included in that company. Hope you had a good Mother’s Day.
