Country Goes to Town

May 28, 2009

Fodor's New York

I’m so excited because Carl and I are heading to the Big Apple today!  It’s going to be like country goes to town when we get there.  I’ve been wanting to go to New York for years, but could never convince Carl that it’s a trip he’d enjoy.  When I saw that Book Expo America was going to be there this year, I subtly suggested that this trip would make a wonderful 30th anniversary gift.  The first thing I packed was my Fodor’s New York City 2009 .

The PhilanthropistWhile I do plan to spend a day and a half at BEA, we do have some other exciting things planned.  We’re going to see Matthew Broderick in The Philanthropist and plan to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Carl feels that a trip to New York wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Apple Store.  We also hope to cram in as many other sites as possible while we’re there – Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, etc. – and, of course, check out some great restaurants.  We won’t have enough time to see it all, but we’ll give it our best shot.

I will be away from the computer most of the time while I’m gone, but will try to check my email from time to time.  I plan to take lots of pictures and bore you with fill you in on all the details next week.
