Weekend Fun
Carl and I are visiting Vance this weekend. We’ve had so much fun seeing him and his roommates. I think he’s more excited to see Milou than he is to see us, but that’s okay. We were hoping to see our niece, too, but she wasn’t feeling well, so we’ll have to do that another time. The football game didn’t come out the way that we hoped, but at least the Hokies lost to a team that we like.
Whenever we get up this way, I have to sneak in a visit with my bookish buddies. I had a great time seeing Jaime of Confessions of a Bibliophile and Miriam of Hachette Books. We always end up talking for hours! (I didn’t even let it bother me when I found out that I’m older than Jaime’s mom.) We missed Jennifer of The Literate Housewife and hope she can make it next time. Jaime claims that I use Vance as an excuse to see them, but I swear, that’s not true!
I so wish I lived closer!!! And I’m sure Vance enjoys seeing his mom and dad too — it’s just not cool to show it!
Have a safe trip home and I can’t wait to “talk” with you!
It definitely looks as though I need to ship some of this weather your way. There y’all are, bundled up in sweaters, and it was 102 here in Phoenix yesterday with “more of same” scheduled for today!
Hokey’s are Va tech, right? I have a niece up there this year. You look like a group that could be sisters – her mother must have been very very young!
Looks like fun!
How much fun! Looks like you are all bundled up in your sweaters…I’m a wee bit jealous! Oh, to wear a jacket!
How nice you were able to meet up with fellow booklovers. Like Julie, I wish I lived close enough to meet with you : )
I’m jealous of the sweaters too! We’re still in the high 90’s in Tucson. And what fun to have a mini-blog meeting!
You’re so lucky to get together with our twitter, blogging, reading friends! Looks like you had a fabulous time!!
I am so sad that I missed it! My parent’s changed their arrival time and the house was in desperate need of cleaning. I love my parents and don’t see them often, but I wish these things didn’t coincide.
Sorry about the Hokie loss. I wonder how that will impact their ranking. Number 4 is so high. I’m so sad they’ll be losing that.
*gasp* You were at Macado’s!! I LOVE Macado’s! I haven’t been in forever, but for the month I lived at Appalachian State University I ate there almost everyday! Ahh…memories…
Looks like you girls had a ton of fun! You’re so lucky!
Great that you met fellow book bloggers. You all lok cosy!
Alas! I never got to meet any book blogger! I tried for Veens to visit me but somehow it didn’t materialise!
I also wish I lived closer – I did meet bookish buddies before when I was in an MSN online book club and we had conventions. That was a lot of fun 🙂
Ah, what can be better than spending time with bookish friends! I’m glad you had fun.
How awesome Kathy – I’m glad you all had a great time!
It’s wonderful that you are able to get together with Miriam and Jaime. I’m sorry that Jennifer couldn’t make it too. Hopefully next time. 🙂
It looks like you had soooo much fun! Love the photo, too!
Aw, rub it in!!! I wish you all lived closer to me. 🙂 (or vice versa!)
I’m sure your son was glad to see you too; it’s just that dogs are fuzzier and more cuddleable than parents. 😉
It looks like you had a great time Kathy! Luckily my conference this week is taking me to where my kids are going to school….so I get to sneak some time in with them too. That’s always fun!
You certainly don’t look like you’re old enough to be her mom!
You all could be sisters!!
And I’m sure your son was happy to see you (especially if you brought food). It is so “uncool” to show it, but even that will change. Eventually….
Glad you had a good time Kathy! 🙂
Isn’t it wonderful to get the chance to meet up with your blogging friends every now and again? I wouldn’t say Vance is an excuse as much as a reason. That might be a softer way of saying it 😉
It’s so cool you got to meet up. Sounds like you had fun. =)
Oh how fun! I really wish I lived closer to bloggers or could visit some. I keep teasing Natasha with a visit but one of these days I swear I’ll make it happen (she lives fairly close to my grandma who I visit bianually). Glad you guys could meet up!
Sounds like a fun time!!!
Sounds like a lovely weekend (barring the football loss of course.)
It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. How fun to meet up with Book friends!
Fun with family *and* friends (sorry about the football game)!
You three were all color-coordinated in your plums and pinks!
looks like you had a grand time! so nice that you got to eat out with another blogger and the famous miriam! lucky duck. 🙂
So jealous you get to meet up with other bookies! Looks like you had fun!
How fun for you to have a meet-up! You all look very warm in your sweaters!
You are so lucky to be able to spend “real time” with great book bloggers. 🙂
I’m sure Vance was glad to see you but I can relate. Jesse is coming home this weekend (so he say’s) but from past experience he will likely sleep til noon, dump his laundry and then go hang out with his friends 🙂 I’m cheerleading for the Read-a-thon so if I get neglected at least I have something to keep me busy.
What fun! 🙂
Awh so so very jealous.. seems like a great time despite the outcome of the game. Love this picture. 😉
What a fun time to catch up – love the picture!
I’m so glad you had a good weekend! It’s fun to visit and get together with friends.
Thanks for sharing a picture and some info about your weekend trip. How nice to “see” Miriam. She is just the nicest and most generous of people. Glad you had a good visit.
How much fun for you, Jaime and Miriam that you can get together. When we zip thru SC next month, I’ll at least wave in your direction. Ha ha. Anyway, glad you ladies had a good visit.
I saw this post on Jamie’s blog & commented on how nice it would be to get together with fellow book bloggers.
Feel free to contact me if you are ever in the DC-Baltimore area.
I think it’s so neat that you get to meet up with them periodically! Looks like you had a great time.
What a lot of fun. Sounds like a great weekend.
That’s so much fun! I love the pic. 😀
Awesome, you are so lucky to get to meet your bookish buddies frequently.
That is so great! Bonnie of Redlady’s Reading Room and I are planning on meeting up at a book signing next month. She only lives 15 minutes from me!
Even if you are using Vance as an excuse to see your bookish friends, it is a good excuse! Looks like you gals had a great time.
Sounds like you had a great time! Kids are good for something, right? LOL
Oh there’s nothing like a college town on a football weekend. I saw that game and it was good, but sorry you lost.
I think Vance was happy to see you also, but he has to keep his cool, you know. Can’t show that he misses his parents in front of the guys.
Thank you for sharing.
