Mailbox Monday
January 31, 2011
Friday was my mother’s 84th birthday, so I’ve been in Alabama to celebrate with her. I’m on my way home today, so I wasn’t able to take a picture of my books. I did get Carl to let me know what came while I was gone, so the list is accurate. Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and is being hosted by Rose City Reader during the month of January. Here’s what I found in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- The Inner Circle by Brad Meltzer came from Hachette Books
- Kat, Incorrigible by Stephanie Burgis was a win from Simon and Schuster
- The Dressmaker of Khair Khana by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon came from Amazon Vine
Tuesday
- Minding Ben by Victoria Brown came from Hyperion Voice
- The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly came from Hachette Books
- Death of a Chimney Sweep by M. C. Beaton came from Hachette Books
Wednesday
- French Dirt by Richard Goodman came from Algonquin Books
- The Jew Store by Stella Suberman came from Algonquin Books
- Cardboard Gods by Josh Wilker came from Algonquin Books
Friday
- Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War by Deb Olin Unferth came from Henry Holt and Company
Did you bring any new books into your home last week?

I’ve heard great things about Kat Incorrigable! Hope you them all.
Great week for you.
Hope you and your mother had a nice visit.
Lots of good ones Kathy. How nice to be able to visit with your mom for her birthday.
Happy Birthday to mom! And I’m impressed that you keep up with your flow of books, even when you are not there!

Happy belated birthday!
I’ll be curious to see your thoughts on The Inner Circle. I wasn’t a big fan.
Enjoy your books 😀
Kat, Incorrigible and Revolution sound excellent. Enjoy your books.
I’m anxious to hear about The Jews Store. I’m a firm believer that birthdays should be spent with moms, as it’s my son’s birthday today, I think he should be with me, like on that original day, but he has other ideas. Bah !
here’s mine http://tributebooksmama.blogspot.com/2011/01/mailbox-monday-admission.html

I see we have Minding Ben in common. By the looks of it I think it will be more serious than The Nanny Diaries.

Kudos to Carl for checking your packages … I’m impressed! MINDING BEN looks like a fun books — enjoy them all!
I keep seeing ads for Brad Meltzer’s book The Inner Circle in the D.C. metro trains. I saw him speak several years ago and he was quite funny, but I’ve never actually read him. I should get around to that sometime.
